Our Leisure Time

Enjoying the Sunset

In our free time, we love hosting friends and family for holidays and game nights. Our gatherings often include board games, movie nights, Mario Kart tournaments, and a lively card game called Spoons. We also enjoy relaxing in the backyard around a fire in the chiminea.

Playing With Our Niece

We like to spend time outdoors together, whether it's taking walks, riding bikes, or exploring local restaurants. On evenings at home, we often cook together, then unwind with popcorn while watching a movie or TV show. Sometimes, we simply enjoy curling up on the couch with a good book.

When Katrina's young niece visits, we delight in taking her on outings, such as trips to the pumpkin patch or petting zoo, and spending time playing with her and reading children's stories.

Why We Chose Adoption

We Can't Wait to Become Parents!

We wholeheartedly believe that God wants us to be parents, and we feel deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to adopt. After we got married, we tried to start a family, but were unable to conceive. After several years of unsuccessful attempts, we sought the help of a fertility specialist. The specialist recommended that Katrina undergo surgery to improve our chances of getting pregnant. We scheduled the surgery within two months. Following the procedure and recovery, we returned to the specialist and went through several rounds of fertility treatments. Early on, we discussed the possibility that the treatments might not be successful, and agreed that if they weren't, we would grow our family through adoption. When the treatments ultimately did not work, we embraced the decision to pursue adoption.

We believe that becoming parents is the most meaningful and important role we will ever have. Loving a child, teaching them about God, guiding them in right and wrong, supporting their education, nurturing them, spending time together, and providing a safe and secure home are all deeply important to us. We look forward to reading with them, playing games, going to church as a family, and enjoying the simple moments of everyday life. Above all, we will cherish every part of their journey—the triumphs as well as the challenges—as part of the incredible privilege of raising a child. We truly cannot wait to become parents.

Our Cats - Tinkerbell, Peter Pan & Wendy

Katrina Cuddling Peter Pan

We have three cats: Tinkerbell, who is almost 16, and Peter Pan and Wendy, a lively 3-year-old sibling pair. Tinkerbell, gray and white, loves finding a cozy spot to curl up for most of the day. At night, she can often be found snuggled between our pillows.

Wendy is mostly white with gray markings on her head and tail. She has a sweet, friendly nature and isn't shy about approaching strangers for pets. She enjoys playing with her feather toy and often curls up on Katrina's chest in the mornings.

Peter Pan is a long-haired orange-and-white cat with a clever, mischievous streak. He especially enjoys Christmas, viewing the tree as his personal playground. His favorite pastimes include eating, chasing Wendy around the house, and playing with crumpled-up receipts.

We adore our cats—they bring so much joy, laughter, and entertainment into our lives. Watching their interactions and seeing how unique each of their personalities is always a delight.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a suburb of a large city in Texas, and each year we look forward to a nearby hot air balloon festival. The day begins with a morning balloon launch, which is always a beautiful sight as dozens of balloons rise into the sky. After most of them are airborne, the crowd is invited onto the field to see the remaining balloons up close, and visitors can even take a ride if they choose. In the evening, once the sun goes down, the festival hosts a balloon glow—an event where the balloons light up the night in bright, colorful patterns. Families come out with their kids to enjoy the show, along with plenty of classic fair-style food like corn dogs and funnel cakes. It's a fun, lively, and memorable event for all ages.

We live in a quiet, family-friendly suburban neighborhood with three playgrounds just a short walk from our home. Soccer and baseball fields are also nearby, and on evenings when games are underway, we can hear parents cheering from the sidelines and the cheerful music of the ice cream truck making its rounds.

Our home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living areas, an eat-in kitchen, and a formal dining room. It offers plenty of space for hosting family and friends, and we plan to turn one of the living areas into a dedicated playroom once we adopt a child.

Our Extended Families

In Nebraska With Patrick's Family

Every summer, we spend a week in Nebraska visiting Patrick's grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We stay in cabins at a state park, and one of them—affectionately called "the gaming cabin"—becomes the nightly gathering spot where the cousins play board games, card games, and even video games. During the days, we enjoy hiking, horseback riding, paddle boating, grabbing ice cream at the marina, and eating at the lodge. Most evenings around dusk, we walk to the observation tower that overlooks the river, where we take in the beautiful views and sunsets. It's always an amazing time with family and a treasured tradition that's been part of our summers for more than 30 years.

At Church With Family

Most of Katrina's family lives within 20 minutes of us, so for the past several years we've hosted Thanksgiving at our home. We usually do a potluck-style meal, though we're in charge of the turkey. Our spread includes all the classic dishes—turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. We spend the whole day together, talking, playing games like Mouse Trap and Operation, working on puzzles, and relaxing by the fire in the backyard. Football is always on in the background, and we keep up our tradition of watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving as a family.

From Us to You

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our profile and learn about us. We know that you are facing an incredibly important and emotional decision, and we can only imagine the range of feelings you may be experiencing. We want you to know how deeply we admire the love, strength, and courage it takes to consider adoption. Your willingness to explore all options for your baby reflects a level of love and devotion that we truly respect. No matter what decision you make, our hope is that you feel supported and that whatever you choose to do brings the very best for both you and your child.

Becoming parents has been a dream for both of us since we were children. Over the course of our five-year marriage, our journey to grow our family has been filled with both challenges and moments of hope, and it has taught us so much about patience, resilience, and unconditional love. Even though the process has not been easy, it has brought us closer together than ever before. Our marriage, our faith, and our commitment to each other have grown stronger with every step. We feel so ready to open our hearts and our home to a child, and our families are incredibly excited as well. They cannot wait to welcome a new little one into the family-to become doting aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

Family is truly at the center of our lives. We cherish spending time with our niece, hosting holidays and game nights, and creating traditions with the people we love. We enjoy taking walks and bike rides together, exploring nearby parks, and appreciating the quiet, everyday moments that make life meaningful. Our home is filled with laughter, warmth, and a sense of togetherness. We look forward to sharing all of this-along with new memories, adventures, and traditions-with a child.

If you choose us, we promise to provide your child with a loving, safe, nurturing, and supportive home. We will encourage them to explore their interests, develop their talents, and grow and thrive. We want them to know they are loved deeply, valued for who they are, and supported in becoming the person they are meant to be. We will teach them about God's love and the importance of family. We will always speak of you with the respect, gratitude, and honor you deserve.

We are committed to openness in communication with you. We would be happy to send letters and photos so you can stay updated on the child's life. We are also open to emails and even a yearly visit in your home state if that is something you would like.

We know this is a deeply personal and meaningful decision, and we are grateful that you would consider us as potential adoptive parents. Thank you again for taking the time to read our letter and learn about our family. We are praying that you find peace, strength, and clarity as you decide what is best for you and your baby.

Sincerely,

Patrick & Katrina
